The Tennessee Public Safety Network is a 501(c)3 agency which is funded by various agency and individual donations as well as contracts for training programs with a number of law enforcement agencies across the state. Additionally, services at no cost, to include critical incident stress management and peer support, through the Tennessee Public Safety Network are funded through an agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Criminal Justice Programs, awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, USDOJ for a VOCA grant which is administered by the Tennessee Sheriffs' Association.

Grant staff include a Program Director; Training Director; Four regional coordinators; and an administrative assistant. Team member volunteers who are sworn law enforcement officers from police agencies; sheriff department deputies and corrections personnel, along with some experienced fire and EMS personnel and licensed mental health professionals from across the State of Tennessee volunteer their services as requested. All volunteers have received specialized training in critical incident stress management, peer support, and confidentiality issues.

The Tennessee Public Safety Network is peer driven and clinically supported.

The Tennessee Public Safety Network is not affiliated with any police department or law enforcement agency although endorsed by many in the state. The network provides a confidential response and assistance in helping public safety personnel deal with the stress inherent in the profession.
