Critical Incident Stress Management and Peer Support for Fire and EMS/Paramedic March 12th thru March 15th

Location:  Camp Garner Creek, 700 Sam Hollow Rd., Dickson, TN 37055

  • Residential training, conducted by the Tennessee Public Safety Network, will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11th, 2024, and will conclude by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday , March 14th, 2024.

  • COST: $830.00 per person for the course, lodging and meals following receipt of application/registration acceptance into the class an invoice will be sent.  
  • Lodging is available for Sunday, March 10th, 2024, for an additional $65.00. Please check this on the registration form if you need lodging.

  • Participants will learn how to lessen the impact that traumatic events can have upon their professional and personal lives, including steps for the critical incident stress debriefing process and appropriate response for peer support in recognizing PTSD, anxiety or depressive states, crisis intervention, suicide prevention/intervention. Organizational peer support development and the roles of peer support officers will be discussed.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have been involved in a critical incident and/or who have been employed as a firefighter, EMS, Paramedic, for at least three-five years.
  • Following training, participants will be given opportunities to engage in TPSN activities as volunteer team members to assist in critical incident stress debriefings along with licensed mental health professional team members who have received training in CISD and the subculture of various aspects of First Responders. Team members will be given opportunities to participate in peer support activities.
